For example, a home garden shed or greenhouse is much better than putting a plant in a pot or a bag, but if you’re a little more adventurous than that. You can also try planting some seeds in large pots in the garden to see what happens. But you don’t want to put it in your backyard where it could get damaged. Find other seeds sprouting nearby. Which can result in potential pests in the garden.
That’s why gardeners who live near dry prairies or areas with naturally occurring drought could potentially plant vegetables in pots inside the garden. If you have a garden space that’s close to your home. You could actually grow some of your own vegetables for consumption. Is it safe to start vegetables in the garden in early spring?
In some areas of Texas, seeds and plants can be planted as early as January. In others, like south Texas or areas with a lot of humidity, it’s a good idea to wait until the last few weeks of February before planting seeds or plants in your garden.
If you plan to plant seeds, wait until you know the weather and temperatures will be good for the next few months. It’s best to avoid planting seeds if you expect a drastic change in temperature by a lot of degrees. I’ve planted things like leafy vegetables (tomatoes, lettuce, etc.) and my parents have planted different types of vegetables (some of which they’ve shared with me), but they’ve never been really warm.
